interesting. looks like a shell print here n there. could it be just that? rock looks shiny.. like chert. meaning it was in clay? let me know what you find… I’d be tempted to split it. but with the shine I fear wouldn’t split well. is it clear coated?

Hi @shelbie-crisp, this looks like bivalve fossils in a limestone. I also looked up the location, and it looks like it came from a Cretaceous deposit. Would you be able to update the Classification field to Kingdom= Animalia, Phylum= Mollusca, Class= Bivalvia? Also, you may be able to update Geochronology to Eon = Phanerozoic, Era=Mesozoic, Period=Cretaceous. If you know exactly where it was found, you can use https://macrostrat.org/map/#/z=10.4/x=-95.8540/y=33.4176/bedrock/lines/ to figure out what rock unit it was found in and fill out the Lithostratigraphy field.
