Thank you very much for the feedback. I appreciate your expertise. The smooth quality of the underside and the inside of the chambers just seemed too unlikely if the specimen was actually organic shell material that had been floating around in the ocean for any period of time.

3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoThis specimen has me stumped. I have a photo from the book Fossils For Amateurs by Russell P. MacFall and Jay C. Wollin and on page 258 they have a photo of a variety of brachiopod, atrypa specimens that looks distinctly like mine. However, I haven’t been able to confirm that with any other corroborating source through internet searches.
