I am attaching a photo of a whale tooth in my collection from the phosphate pits of “Bone Valley” FL (Around Polk and Hardee counties) for comparison.
Not all whale teeth are “robust”

…and the others look like Quartz, maybe with some Limonite (Iron Oxide)

I would also agree that it is probably not a tooth, since I see no enamel…
