    I am currently investigating some possible feathers from the Hell Creek Formation.  How does one tell the difference between fossil feathers and structures such as plant fibers?

      Greetings @michael-deak ! You might have better luck with your inquiry if you contact Scott Wing at the Smithsonian. He is a paleobotanist with considerable experience with Hell Creek flora.
