@philip-stokes if I recall correctly, you had an opinion on this, yes?
I’ve seen both Phacops and Eldredgeops used interchangeably. For example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phacops_rana
Technically speaking, Eldredgeops is the genus and Phacops is the species. ‘Eldredgeops’ gets its name from paleontologist Niles Eldredge from the American Museum of Natural History in New York. ‘Phacops rana’ translates roughly to ‘Frog eyes,’ which is way cooler in my opinion.
