Phillip Kaess has contributed specimen mFeM 158296 to myFOSSIL!

    • Photo 1. Lots of bivalve shells with one or two other forms mxed in.

    • Photo 2. A mix of micro fossils with mostly crinoid stems.

    • Photo 3. Mostly imprints of shell I believe. To see what they really looked like a goid sized dollop of Plasticine or silly putty could be pressed onto the specimen. When you pull it away carefully you are going to be pleasantly surprised at the result. It would be great if you could upload a photo.

    • Photo 4. The netlike shapes are a form of bryozoan. Left top may be a partial horn coral. There also seems to be part of a crinoid stem visible..

    • use macrostrat.org and click geologic map. Search the nearest city to where you got these, then see if you can find the actual spot. You can also use the rock’d app on site if there is service.
