Your Inner Fish: A Journey into the 3.5-billion-year History of the Human Body by Neil Shubin.

Another excellent book that I have ready and dissected with high school biology students. The text is comprehensive and the figures are incredibly useful. I had the pleasure of meeting Neil several years ago! He’s a Cubs fan, for all those concerned.

    • The PBS series is also available on Netflix, if you’re more into a visual/audio version (even though this group is for bookworms)

    • I read this for my comparative vertebrate anatomy class, and I fell in love with it. Definitely in my top 10 books that every paleo enthusiast should read.
