Victor Perez has contributed specimen mFeM 50631 to myFOSSIL!

    • Hi, @vperez
Here is the Wichita Group formation break down: https://macrostrat.org/sift/#/strat_name/2707
Archer City looks to be in the Bowie Group: https://macrostrat.org/sift/#/strat_name_concept/6522

If you could remember the locality in greater detail we may be able to work this out! To confirm – this is a mouth plate, correct?

      Talk to you soon,
      Jen

      • Yup, it is a mouth plate. There was debate about whether this site was late Pennsylvanian or early Permian. Unfortunately, I don’t think that has been resolved yet, so I’m going with what I was originally taught. I’ll add this to the field notes. I was asked to keep the locality information private for this site.

        • Okay all of that is fair. Thanks, Victor. If we mark your specimen research grade – is there the possibility that you would share this locality with someone interested in researching the group? Or that you could at least entertain the discussion? We can add that into the field notes section as well – if it is something you are comfortable with. Thanks, Jen

          • Yes, I would need to ask permission from the person that brought me to the site, but I don’t think it would be an issue.

            • Excellent! I’ll go ahead and add that into the Field notes – the specimen is really cool and you have excellent data so it makes sense to at least put it out there – even with the hidden location!
