It’s an artiodactyl astragalus, but past that I’m afraid I can’t offer more insight. Maybe the others can give a more precise ID?
I gave her the same ID when she first contacted me, Dawn, lol. Hoping that Sean or Bruce can chime in here soon. 🙂
Nice find! It looks a lot like the peccary astragalus I just worked on but I think it could be peccary or camel. I don’t think I can link directly to the images but if you go to the FLMNH Vertebrate Paleontology Database (http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/vertpaleo-search/) and type 29235, 57320, 176801, and 192538 into the ‘catalog number’ box and then ‘submit query’, you will see images of peccary (Tayassuidae) astragali to compare to. Some camel (Camelidae) astragali to compare to are 25975, 39193, 162899, and 178489. You might also be able to find more by just searching for the order. I hope that helps!
