Isaac Fox has contributed specimen mFeM 84836 to myFOSSIL!

    • The species S. falcatus and S. kaupi represent a bucket species which includes more than one species, neither of which have been well defined. This and the other teeth appear to represent the same species (if found together maybe even the same animal). These teeth do not match well against either what has been called S. kaupi or S. falcatus. Squalicorax sp. maybe more reasonable. For that reason, they are very interesting.

    • @bill-heim, Most of these were found spread out over about 1/4 of a mile. So possibly the same animal, but not likely.

    • Not likely. The posterior cusplet is not like the classic S. falcatus. Also most S. falcatus teeth have wide blades and are erect (except the posteriors). See: http://oceansofkansas.com/sharks.html
