3 years, 8 months ago3 years, 8 months agoHi @vperez and @danita-brandt – I can’t say much past what Danita has already guessed. It’s possibly a columnal or a holdfast… certainly echinoderm material but not being super familiar with the location or formation I’m not much use.

3 years, 8 months ago3 years, 8 months agoHi @danita-brandt, sorry for all the messages today. We’re wrapping up the curation from the FOSSILblitz. The photo on this one is a little too blurry for us to verify the ID.

3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoHi @danita-brandt very cool find! I’m going to tag in @samantha-ocon to confirm ID so we can mark it research grade! Also, some of your other specimens have in the notes that they may be part of a Michigan State collection, is this a formal collection?

3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoHi @danita-brandt ! I looked up the genus Bumastoides and it seems it may be an outdated genus name. This site refers to Bumastus as the current genus and has the higher taxonomy. https://www.mindat.org/taxon-9572229.html
