4 years, 1 month ago4 years, 1 month agoWhat is this? Found in construction area for new homes in an established neighborhood in Georgetown, TX, near 200 S. Ocatillo Ln, 78633 (behind my house). Are these photos okay or should I retake them? The thing in question is stuck to the rock. A geologist I sent a photo to thinks it may be a seed pod, and a paleontologist he spoke to thinks it’s insect molt. Also, I haven’t posted since the first photos I uploaded about eight months ago and can’t find notes so I don’t remember if I need to include the following information or not so I am adding it just in case. Hi @junie-besteiro! Would you be able to post more photos with different angles and include different sides of the specimen? this almost looks like a rattlesnake shed
Yes, I will take some different angles and post them. Thank you!
I believe that’s a praying mantis egg case (ootheca)
Oh wow! Thank you! (Should I remove the photo now?)
