It almost looks like a hoof from the striations visible in the third picture
Yeah it does resemble a hoof. But it sticks out to the one side so it’s awkward. IDK this has had me puzzled lol. I have no experience. When I first found this I thought it was a shark tooth lol.
Could it be a fragment from a knobbed whelk shell?
It could be. It feels heavy like bone but maybe. It def resembles a lot of things! I had anorher like this one found not far from this one but it was stolen. That one was wcwn larger bit almost identical, wlightly different color. I wish I still had it!
