Not a skull. The white blobs might be shells but I can’t tell from the photo. What is certain is that it is not a skull.
Thanks for your input, but I am certain it is.
The word “blob” you used tells me your opinion is not scientific….no offense meant, but I need someone with credentials to tell me it is not so. Again, thank you for the input though.
Its definitely a skull not sure what type it is tho.
Blob is a perfectly acceptable term when describing something indistinct and blobby, like the white bits in this. The photo is too low resolution to tell what they are. This is still not a skull. The holes that suggest eyes and nostril should go all the way through. Even on a fossil if they fill in the matrix is distinctly different than the bone. Yours is all the same material, possibly with the exception of the bobby things that might actually be fossils if you cared to photograph those more clearly.
Considering you are making all these assumptions on a low resolution photo, you must be an expert.
Ty for your opinion.
Rock. If I could post them, I have pictures of a rock that looks just like a skull to. Nice conversation piece however.
Too. Thank you, as well…James Preston
I am amused as well😂
@ginny-sims why are you so defensive just because somebody used the word blob? it is just a word and also somebody can use a word and still be a respectful scientist. blob can be an adjective which was how it was used in this case to describe shells. You do not need to have credentials to be respected and to know things. And if you were so certain that it in fact was a skull, you wouldn’t be asking.
also not a skull, not enough detail and the features look distorted
My gosh, thanks everyone- not trying to start a war. All of you are on my picture taking the time to comment, so you must have been intrigued as well, right Iva?
Am I on Facebook?
@james-preston, thank you for being kind and not a “know it all”. I appreciate your thoughts😁
@ginny-sims yep you are right definitely am intrigued
Just posted the picture of the rock that looks like a skull. Found by a farmer I met once. It is really a chert nodule with quartz.
