    Roger Burris has contributed specimen mFeM 132512 to myFOSSIL!

    • The two candidates for this are Crocodile osteoderm and fish pharyngeal (perhaps that of the red drum, Sciaenops). However, both would have bone structure in cross section so I have a feeling this is not a vertebrate fossil. I wonder if it is a phosphatic nodule which has some Pholad Borings on it (pits made by boring clams).

    • The above is correct. Phosphate nodules often have these pits.
