Roger Burris has contributed specimen mFeM 132512 to myFOSSIL!
The two candidates for this are Crocodile osteoderm and fish pharyngeal (perhaps that of the red drum, Sciaenops). However, both would have bone structure in cross section so I have a feeling this is not a vertebrate fossil. I wonder if it is a phosphatic nodule which has some Pholad Borings on it (pits made by boring clams).
The above is correct. Phosphate nodules often have these pits.
