    • I have a similar fossil. Can you tell us where it was found so we could get an ID? (If in Nashville, probably a bryozoan )

    • Oregon

    • This is an ammonite! With a more specific location I can get a more specific age but it is definitely mesozoic.

    • I honestly don’t believe that I was the first person to find this fossil. The reason I say that is because I found it really close to my moms house. I was clearing out all the foliage, and then dug up some dirt so I could plant some plants and that’s when I came across a bunch of stones. So I decided I would use the stones around my plants. When I was washing the stones that’s when I discovered the fossil. My moms house is in Trail, Oregon. I’m have zero experience with fossils, this is my first. But it appears to be petrified. It feels like it weighs about 9 or 10 pounds. I would love to find out what it is. Looking forward to hear more of your thoughts about it. Thank you for taking the time to read and reply. Much appreciated. Stephanie
