Thanks @alan-goldstein ! Does you mean that “Phacops” isn’t a valid taxa anymore? First, the whole Brontosaurus vs. Apatosaurus thing, and now this. 😀
I’m sure it’s valid, just not for the Devonian trilobites in the eastern U.S. Niles Eldridge, the paleontologist who the genus is named for wasn’t too keen on the honor, but there it is. You can still use ‘Phacopid’ for an unidentified trilobite in that group.
