Chetara Conner has contributed specimen mFeM 50052 to myFOSSIL!

    • Hi, @chetara-conner, any idea what animal this bone came from? Maybe some of our vertebrate experts can chime in to help: cc @jeanette-pirlo, @smoran, @samantha-ocon

      • No idea. I think they researched some when I originally submitted it and concluded it was of a deer species. I found it on Panama City Beach, in the water. Yes I said Deer. I am not at all educated in the scientific name of mammals. haha

        • So this looks like an astragalus (ankle bone) of an artiodactyl (even-toed hoofed mammal). Could you please take a picture facing the direction where your thumb is located on the fifth image? I do not know if this is a deer though, but not because it may not be a deer, but because I do not know my artiodactyl astragali very well. Also, don’t worry about using the term deer, I don’t know many scientific names either!
