Hi, @Adam-Frey! I looked up the Blakeley formation on Macrostrat: https://macrostrat.org/sift/#/strat_name/7190. You may be able to get some insight on what this is. @Mackenzie-Smith might also have some input.
haven’t see macrostrat yet…will check out…thanks
wow I checked that site out and I’m very impressed…for a moment I thought this may be coral but doesn’t match any of the findings list for my location and other locations in the Puget Sound. hopefully someone on here can advise
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I will also recommend PBDB: https://paleobiodb.org/navigator/ and the Digital Atlas of Ancient Life: https://www.digitalatlasofancientlife.org/ as resources if you need help with topics.
P.S. Macrostrat also has a mobile app called Rockd that will use your phone’s location to tell you about the formation you’re standing on and the fossils that have been found in it. Would definitely recommend checking it out!
I don’t know what it is. Maybe a burrow? I think the formation is Oligocene.
