Looks like solidified wood
It’s solicified wood
I just searched up it’s petrified wood😋
@sofia-o @harve-kaufman Yep. Wood can fall in a couple of categories. First is how it’s preserved. If there is cellular detail we call it permineralized. If there is no cellular detail then it is petrified. More often than not, wood falls in between the two so we call it what it looks like the most. Second, we can talk about the dominant minerals that preserve the wood. The two main ones are silica and calcium carbonate. If the wood is preserved by silica it is silicious. If by calcium carbonate it is called calcarious. So you can have a piece of petrified wood that is silicious.
