Worn scale tree bark?
Permian gymnosperm. Almost looks like a cycad. Possibly Lepidodendron as @a-trilobite suggests.
Correction. Carboniferous tree fern. I thought you collected this from Spencer again.
Lepidodendron also known as a scale tree is a fern tree?
Technically, more of a giant club moss.
Would you agree with the fallowing?
Lepidodendron also known as a scale tree is an extinct genus of primitive, (tree-like) plant related to the lycopsids also known as club mosses. Sometimes called giant club mosses, they were actually more closely related to today’s quillworts than to modern club mosses. Rather than reproduce with seeds, Lepidodendron trees reproduced with spores.
Sounds like a textbook definition, if you came up with that yourself I congratulate you
Thank you for the verification!. 👍
