@bill-heim the striations appear to continue into the root on the third picture, would this indicate a Scapanorhynchus sp.?
I assume this came from Purse as well. Scapanorhynchus is strictly from the Cretaceous. Purse is strictly Paleocene. This would be Striatolamia if it had serrations. I don’t see any due to severe wear. What you are seeing are small cracks. See: http://www.elasmo.com/frameMe.html?file=genera/cenozoic/sharks/striatolamia_new.html&menu=bin/menu_genera-alt.html AND http://www.elasmo.com/frameMe.html?file=genera/cretaceous/scapanorhynchus.html&menu=bin/menu_genera-alt.html
@bill-heim this one definitely was a Holden Beach find. I kept it separate from the others because it was my all time favorite find as a child before I had ever gone to Purse (or anywhere else)
You need to keep in mind that different places have different ages and vastly different species. Holden Beach and Purse are a some dozens of millions of years apart.
