I did find some photos doing a search under different words and I think maybe your right damnit lol

Unless I’m misunderstanding something which is possible but it you try expanding the pic it should show you the middle has a big sort of knot or hole and then there are lines going outward from there

It’s def got lines maybe my pic is hard to see due to lack of contrast but that was why I thought it was wood illl try posting it again I could be wrong about the specimen being wood but it def resembles a rotting piece of wood 😜

Def I would say coral I’m not an expert but depending on where it was found you could probably google the type because it looks pretty defined

Do you have any links I could look at im just curious for my own knowledge not saying your wrong I can handle my “fossil “ not being a fossil I just don’t have a reference for it this side I’m not so convinced is unusual as the other side.

The other side could go either way I could see it being a vein or some sort of marine life but it didn’t really feel like quartz to me there’s actually a lot of limestone for some eeason where I live I think it’s because it is near s brook going into a river

I’ve seen lots of weird quartz patterns and stuff and I know this area is not known for fossils but I’ve never seen another rock with a pattern quite like this I looked up what I could and I don’t see too much that that looks quite like this tho I could be wrong

I am jealous! That is bad ass specimen! ( and definitely died w more teeth intact then. I will!)
