Most likely not if it’s a real tooth it would be in a museum
@littleorthoceras-gr This is a real mosasaur tooth from the Ouled Abdoun Basin of Morocco, Cretaceous in age, Nice acquisition! If you want to make it research grade, you can fill out the location, classification, lithostratigraphy, and geochronology sections. Let me know if you would like some help with them!
@aiden-gore-3 that is false, just bc someone has a real fossil, (expecaily teeth) doesn’t mean it would be in a museum, just don’t give out false information
@james-baugh ,I know. That’s why I didn’t reply to him. I mean the sell real tyrannosauroid skeletons !
not that place I got the tooth from
My bad I’m so sorry I just figured they wouldn’t sell real fossil teeth because they are rare ya know so I’m sorry
@aiden-gore-3 rare depends on where you are. Shark teeth are rare where I am, but plentiful where you are. Different countries also have different laws around fossil ownership and Sales. Generally in the USA vertebrate fossils found on state or federal land belong to the state itself, which is why they go to museums. Other countries don’t have or can’t well enforce laws like that. Morocco is famous for vast fossil deposits and a lot of mining as part of their economy generally, so there is a lot of resources to make fossils available for export.
@aiden-gore-3 you are good
