Ok so don’t even say this is a rock cause it’s frickin not! And it’s not petrified wood ! Let’s see how good u are and name it lol! #fossil #event #the texture is almost leather like

    • I am leaning towards tusk or something like that

    • that’s fantastic looks like maybe a tusk?

    • As someone who works at a site with over 60 preserved mammoths, I can say with confidence this is neither a tusk nor any other type of fossil. I suggest contacting a local museum or university if you want a second professional opinion. The human brain is fine tuned to pick up patterns, I have many times mistaken a rock for a fossil! It’s nothing to be ashamed of, in fact it probably means that you are unlikely to miss a fossil when they are there to be found.

    • Well it’s definitely something because it’s right in the same place as fossil crabs and mammoths teeth & crinoid stems you can only see so much from a picture

    • Paul-Machale man i am right there with upu man and i think it has to be a fossil i have some with the same things in them i know my eyes aren’t just picking up patterns i think I’ve figure something out honestly
