The unit is almost impossible to collect from due to rapid decomposition of the shale. But, because of a fresh exposure of the shale, I was able to collect rare (probably new) crinoids, cephalopods, phyllocarid parts, lingulids, etc. These will be donated to the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History where they will be available for study.
Amazing, @samuel-ciurca! I am thrilled to hear this news. @jkallmeyer will be interested to see the rare crinoids! I wonder if anyone else in the Rochester area has been able to collect there — @dkrisher, are you aware of this spot?
