What are these perfect round balls #fossil #event #collection_site #method

    • Those are concretions, you can do a little research into them but they are naturally occurring geological formations. Nice finds!

    • I agree. Concretions are crazy natural occurrences when loose sediment is pressed into form around a nucleus. Therefore if you cut one down the middle you’ll find the original seed!

    • How can you tell the difference? It looks like geods but I could be wrong completely, I’d love to be educated on how to tell the difference

    • @brittany-barbeau the type of rock that they are, just makes it relatively unlikely to be a geode but rather a concretions, the “seed” in the middle of these can sometimes be fossils and the middle back on looks most promising in wielding a fossil, so would defintly recommend cracking that down the middle and having a look

    • look like nodules could contain a fossil where we’re they found?

    • Look like Moqui marbles.

    • I was gonna say old Native American marbles, but they look much larger
