Hi there. There may be some paleo classes offered at a nearby university or community college. But paleontology has a long standing tradition of also being accessible via informal learning and self study. There are many paleontologists who are not employed by museums or universities that just do it as a hobby and have found spectacular fossils and/or have published great scientific articles. There’s the madera fossil museum that may be accessible to your area! I too am originally from the Central Valley as well
