Adam Whitehouse has contributed a new specimen to myFOSSIL!

    • Hey @adam-whitehouse ! Do you have any information about the general location where you found this specimen? Providing the nearest town can help narrow down the geological context, and therefore help provide an identification.

    • charmouth United kingdom, I live locally

    • That would likely put you in Lias Group strata, which is Late Triassic to Early Jurassic. Fossils there are marine, so this likely some genus of fish. I would consider reaching out to a local museum to get further info. It could be of scientific importance.

    • hi Mathew that is right and I will do as soon as lockdown ends thank you once again.

    • Vertebrate. Doesn’t look fishy to us.

    • Looks like a crinoid

    • Crinoid?

    • definitely not a crinoid i would say and this is exactly why I posted this because I cant find anything of similarities to this piece. I have a nice crinoid piece which I shall post shortly .
