So if the fossils collected from Lee Creek (Yorktown) could range in age from the Late Miocene to the Late Pliocene, what are the other characters of the Lee Creek fossils which would pinpoint their age? I appreciate you help….Dave

The black coloration looks like it came from Zone-1 of the Yorktown which is late Miocene reworked into the Pliocene.

So if the fossils collected from Lee Creek (Yorktown) could range in age from the Late Miocene to the Late Pliocene, what are the other characters of the Lee Creek fossils which would pinpoint their age? I appreciate you help….Dave

Petuch renamed a bunch of ecphoras with little justification. The rules of nomenclature state that the first naming takes priority. This is Ecphora quadricostata Conrad 1830.
