looks to me like some kind of vertebrae, what kinda area did you find it? then we can try to narrow down what it originated from

I found it on the beach in North Topsail, in North Carolina about a week ago. -
okay so as it was a beach were going to be in the understanding it is likely to also be a marine animal, although this is not always the case, I’m from UK do don’t know to much about geology of the states. as it is about 3.5inches long I’m going to hedge my bets towards an ichthyosaur vertebrae as these are relatively common world wide, and I…[Read more]

I agree with Matthew. Looks very turtle. Not remotely mammoth or toothy.
