      Deer cannon bone or toe bone. Think how we walk, flat footed. A deer walks on the tips of it’s toes.

      Greetings @tanya-splan ! Your specimen looks like a crinoid stem segment. If you can provide more specific location data (ie, county or town) that would help narrow down a more specific ID.

      Well, the strata around McHenry County is from the Ordovician and Silurian. So, your specimen certainly seems like a crinoid stem segment.
