According to what I looked up Palo Duro has lots of marine fossils. I first found a photo of an ammonite with deep ridges but not as deep. There was also a picture of a pecten shell showing these ridges. Although I could find no mention of the species your specimen closest matched Helicoprion which is a strange shark species. It was found in a rocky area inBucks County, Pennsylvania. It is 6 inches at longest length, 4.5 inches wide and about 3/8 inches deep. The area where I found it would not be farmland . Could it be a footprint.

Unfortunately this is not a fossil, it appears to be a piece of weathered stone (limestone or chert perhaps, hard to say from these photos).
