2 years, 10 months ago2 years, 10 months agoVenice Beach here in Florida started it all with my 12 yo son a few months ago. He found his first shark teeth there and has always been fascinated with Megalodon. So now that he has realized he has a chance to find a Meg tooth, he’s on the hunt lol. This past weekend I took him camping at Peace River to see what he could find. He’s the one tha…[Read more]

2 years, 11 months ago2 years, 11 months agoI thought it was strange too. That’s why I figured I’d ask here Incase anybody else has seen or found anything like it. That’s really cool to know. Thank you!! My friend found a bigger solid piece without a hole also with Chinese markings on it.

Not a fossil, possibly an old coin which is very interesting. I know In ancient China they made coins with holes in the middle so you could put a string through them. However, it wouldn’t make sense to have an ancient Chinese coin found in Florida

I know during age of exploration China came here and landed in Florida and maybe that is how it could be 600 years old
-
@James-Duffy i didn’t see anything about China exploring Florida, so either this isn’t what we think it is or it will rewrite history, which unfortunately isn’t as likely

A paleontologist at some local college possibly could find some more answers.
-
I’d say an archeologist would be more helpful, as this is human history

Thank you both 😊

Go look at some pictures of a archaeologist or paleontologist didn’t work Chinese coins I swear it is one

This is no China coin this is japenese

That’s really interesting. I think a lot depends on where you find it. To me it looks like a currency used by the Qing dynasty inscribed with Qianlong Tongbao, minted between the 1700’s I believe. Chinese relics have been found along the east coast of Florida from Spanish shipwrecks. Also, their have been finding of Ming dynasty artifacts on Juno…[Read more]
