Not a fossil, possibly an old coin which is very interesting. I know In ancient China they made coins with holes in the middle so you could put a string through them. However, it wouldn’t make sense to have an ancient Chinese coin found in Florida

I thought it was strange too. That’s why I figured I’d ask here Incase anybody else has seen or found anything like it. That’s really cool to know. Thank you!! My friend found a bigger solid piece without a hole also with Chinese markings on it.

I know during age of exploration China came here and landed in Florida and maybe that is how it could be 600 years old

@James-Duffy i didn’t see anything about China exploring Florida, so either this isn’t what we think it is or it will rewrite history, which unfortunately isn’t as likely

Now I’m really intrigued to find out exactly what it is. What kind of place would you guys suggest I take this too to find out more info?

A paleontologist at some local college possibly could find some more answers.

I’d say an archeologist would be more helpful, as this is human history

That’s really interesting. I think a lot depends on where you find it. To me it looks like a currency used by the Qing dynasty inscribed with Qianlong Tongbao, minted between the 1700’s I believe. It is a coin probably early Chinese. What it is definitely not is a fossil.

I can clearly see that thank you. I however, did not realize “what is it” was only for fossils. I’ll keep that in mind and further researching elsewhere. Thank you.
