Hi, @brent-hawkins – were you interested in adding in any associated specimen information (taxonomy, geologic context, etc.) to this specimen? Or just wanting to include it as an image in the app? I can move it to just an image or work with you to fill in the other information.
-
sure. help me out
-
Okay, @brent-hawkins – I’ve adjusted your information slightly. You had a typo in the genus name. I moved the numerical age to your field notes – the Age is referring to the pronoun for the time bin rather than numerical age, we are going to be sorting taxa by time and classification so having this similar to other users will properly group…[Read more]

Age would be Priabonian

4 years, 8 months ago4 years, 8 months agoI jave found many this size in Georgia and S.C. It seems to be more popular than the axes with grooves that are tied to a handle. Its a very nice non- fossil human tool. I love finding new stuff mixed with million year old fossils

It’s hard to tell the size without a scale bar of some sort. Can you provide a picture with something for scale? Pencil, coin? Thanks!

Hi, @brent-hawkins – it’s because you didn’t make this image a fossil specimen – if you want to add in taxonomic, location, or other data you can click ‘add to my fossil gallery’ and then you will get those options and the ability to add multiple images.

I believe its a castor beaver

4 years, 8 months ago4 years, 8 months agomy shell is complete with the bottom attached like a clam. If you look at the second picture it shows a front view of it smiling at you. Its funny that i even found it because it looked like a white clay ball and i stepped on it. Most of the fossils in my creek are on top of the clay layer. I dug too deep that day.
