I just set one up for DPS. Is the site open enough for me to offer it as an option for my youth group? We have about 55 on the roster, but there are lots of siblings. If so, I can create an educational outreach group for them as well.
-
Great! Thanks for creating a DPS group, Tynessa! I believe the site is open enough for k-12 participants. Just have them go to the landing page and fill out the registration form with a parent. Then a login will be created and sent to the registrant email address. Thanks!

Cell phones can be used to take photos of fossils, but one has to understand the limitations of the equipment and how to compensate for those limitations. Ronny – I definitely think there is a need for a special forum on digitization. One of our club members is working on a book on taking good, quality digital photos has proven to be quite challenging for him.

Ok Suzanne, maybe that club member can help us with his expertise to make the tutorial as good as possible. With all the informations needed but still focused and simple.

The easiest way is to use a coin as a scale. Everybody has a coin around, and coins are always the same size / comparable. We have uploaded a printable FLMNH photo scale for you to use as well. Please see photo scale bars.
