If the tooth has fine serrations with a thicker body you have a lovely megalodon tooth albeit a small one. Great whites have coarser serrations with a thinner body. Serrations are not very visible.

@kristen-wochele this is not a megalodon, but actually an ancestral white shark (Carcharodon hastalis). Nice find! Would you mind adding a picture of the other side of the tooth with a coin or ruler for scale?
