If you need more photos. I can add later on.
-
You have a beautiful ammonite. Dont cut away. There may be other specimens hidden in the matrix.
-
Thanks @Lynette-luff. Just found two small ones on the back
-
I am so pleased for you. Beware you’ve been bitten by the fossil bug. Rock addiction makes you sick , very sick. Fossil fever however is terminal. Enjoy.
-
Sorry what @Lynette-luff!!!
-
@charlie-wildey don’t be alarmed Lynette is just making a joke that you may fall in love with finding fossils! 🙂

Sorry not a bird, but there seems to be a lit of material, with some visible bone splinters.
-
Had a look but it seems that birds seem to mostly land up in finely grained sand stone or shale. Check in Google images.
-
I don’t know. Until someone really inspects by holding in their hands I’m saying it was a bird. I have so many rocks that look just like birds, dragons, etc. I have so many. Too many to load up and take somewhere. How do I convince someone to come and look at what I’m finding. From what I understand that the animal would have to be buried in mud…[Read more]

I hate how this app always cuts the top part of the images. why is that?
-
You have a lovely collection of small bones. Can you let us know where the fossils come from. Do you have any idea what the age of this fossil might be?

Has the shape of an arrowhead
-
it is curved inward like a tooth so it cant be an arrowhead.
-
This looks like a tooth. It could be a shark tooth that’s broken. Owing to the size I kept on returning to crocodillians. Although they are usually cone shaped with a but of a hollow, there are photos with a similar shape to crocs. Some further research is needed.

@aktan-orhan this appears to be a perissodactyl upper molar, and given the area you found it probably late miocene in age. Would you like me to send these photos to a scientist to learn more?
P.S. Persiatherium in an advanced state of wear might look like this, though I’m no expert on perissodactyl teeth (I stick with sharks and primates!)

ty for comments. feel free to share photos.

Officially consider me totally green with envy. Congratulations to a special specimen.

-
Your specimen seems to be a red jasper stone. I looked at some pics on Google. Coral shows particular lines and shapes.
-
@lynette-luff thanks, it is made of calcite (hardness and HCL test) – so I guess it was prob something alive at one point. I did notice the Pollyp type shape in the middle, and will try to get some more pics of the side that show other structures. Picture 3 is actually a dif. sample but was unable to see how to delete a photo after clicking on…[Read more]
