Is it a dinosaur? no. A bird? No. It’s flying reptile. Also, if pterosaurs had Proto-feathers, or feather like structures, where do these structures actually begin to appear in the fossil record?

5 years ago5 years agoCount down to a talk I’m giving in Pasco County on Florida plant fossils! This is Thalassodendron auricula-leporis, a seagrass from 40 million years ago. This genus no longer lives in Florida but today is eaten by dougons in the Indian Ocean and West Pacific. #event

@sadie-mills Great question! This is the skull of Ichthyostegalia from the late Devonian. This fossil was found in Greenland!
